Join us in creating a Luton where every older person feels supported.
Give your time, change a life — and make a difference in your community.
We are always on the look-out for people who want to help us deliver services, raise money, and add to our established volunteer team. We require volunteers in a variety of positions and would encourage anybody interested in volunteering to call us for a chat!
We need volunteers who are enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference to an older person’s life and have a desire to prevent loneliness and isolation within the elderly community of Luton.
We need volunteers who can express empathy or just listen. So, whether you’re over 60 yourself and would like to talk to someone of the same age or a younger volunteer who would engage in the stories they may reminisce about, all ages 16+ are welcome to volunteer.
Volunteering can take just 1 hour a week to chat to one of our elderly service users each week either over the phone (Telephone Club) or in person (Home Visits).
If you’re interested in becoming a Befriending volunteer, please email [email protected] or call Amber on 01582 456812 for an informal chat.
Offer regular chats and companionship to help combat loneliness.
Assist with small tasks or errands that make life easier.
Help organise and run community events and fundraising activities.
